Can I take a course if I am currently Injured?

This all depends on how much your injury would impact your ability to successfuly complete the skills required to meet Canadian Red Cross Program standards.  Instructors have the ability to modify to some point, but must alwasy adhere to the standards.  Feel free to call and discuss options.

Is there a knowledge exam at the end of the course?

Yes, WSIB requires that there is a formal knowedge exam at the end of the first aid course, however, our instructors ensure you have all the knowlege required to successfuly complete it and modifications can be made to help you complete it successfully.  Please discuss any test anxiety, learning dissabilities with the instructor at the beginning of the course to ensure you are given the tools to be successful.

What happens if I forget what to do at the scene of an emergency?

Studies show that having some form of first aid training helps the bystander have confidence in acting, and one of the simpliest ways of providing first aid is activating EMS.  One of the worst things you can do is nothing at all.
